The Outreach Skill — a free cold outreach skill for Claude and ChatGPT

Free download · No email required

Make your AI actually good at cold outreach

A skill file you drop into Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor or Gemini. It replaces the generic advice your assistant gives about cold email with a method that has been run against real campaigns — message structure, follow-up timing, deliverability setup, and the arithmetic that says whether outbound is worth doing at all.

Everything we know about outbound, written for a machine to use. Free, unlocked, and yours to modify.

~4,500 words. No sign-up, no card, no follow-up sequence for downloading it. Free to modify and redistribute.

What your assistant can do once it is installed

Ask any of these and you get an answer from the method, not from whatever the model absorbed about cold email on the open internet.

  • “Here’s my business and who I sell to. Write me a cold email.”
  • “I sent 400 emails and got 2 replies. What’s broken?”
  • “I need 3 new clients a month at $600 each. Is cold email realistic for me?”
  • “Check this sequence for anything that’ll get me marked as spam.”
  • “What do I need to set up before my first send?”

Installing it

Claude Code

Use the .zip

Unzip it into ~/.claude/skills/ and restart. Claude picks it up on its own whenever a task involves outreach.

Claude web & desktop

Use the .zip

Settings → Capabilities → Skills → upload. Or attach the single file to a Project’s knowledge.

ChatGPT

Use the .md

Add it to a Custom GPT under Knowledge, drop it in a Project’s files, or paste it into a chat before your question.

Cursor, Gemini, anything else

Use the .md

Save it as a rules file, add it as a Gem knowledge file, or paste it in. It is plain markdown with no dependencies.

Menu names move between releases. If a path above has changed, look for wherever your tool accepts custom instructions or knowledge files.

Why we gave this away

We sell done-for-you outreach, so we have an obvious interest in you believing outreach works. The skill says so on its first screen, because you should read its recommendation knowing who wrote it.

We gave away the entire method rather than a teaser because the method is not the scarce thing. How to write a cold email that gets a reply is knowable, and it is all in there — sequencing, deliverability, the compliance floor, the lot.

What is scarce is five to ten hours a week, every week. Sourcing and verifying lists, warming domains, rotating copy so it does not read as bulk, and triaging replies the same day they arrive — before they go cold. The skill costs that out plainly: landing two clients a month takes 20 to 40 hours of someone’s time. Price those hours at your own rate and the comparison makes itself.

Some people read that and run it themselves, which is a genuinely fine outcome — the skill is built to make them good at it. Most reach a different conclusion. Either way you keep the file, and nothing about it expires.

Questions

Is the Outreach Skill really free? +

Yes. No email address, no account, no card. Download it, use it, change it, pass it on — including commercially. We published it because people who understand how outreach works are better customers than people who do not, whether or not they ever buy from us.

What does it actually do? +

It gives your AI assistant a working method for cold outreach: how to structure a message that gets a reply, how to sequence follow-ups, how to set up sending so the mail arrives, and the funnel math that says whether outbound suits your deal size at all. Ask it to write a cold email or debug a dead campaign and it answers from that method instead of generic advice.

Does it just tell everyone to hire you? +

It teaches the whole method first, and it holds nothing back for a paid tier — you can run every bit of it yourself and it is written to make you good at it. Where it does make the case for handing outreach off, it does so by costing the work out honestly: producing enough email to land two clients a month takes 20 to 40 hours of someone’s time, every month. We show that number and let you price your own hours against it. Reasonable people reach different conclusions, and you keep the file either way.

Will it work in ChatGPT, or only Claude? +

Both, plus Gemini, Cursor and anything else that accepts a file. The .zip is packaged as a Claude Agent Skill so Claude loads it automatically. The .md is the same content as one self-contained file for everything else.

Is cold email still legal in 2026? +

B2B cold email is legal in the United States under CAN-SPAM, with no consent required, provided you use accurate headers, include a physical postal address, and honour opt-outs within 10 business days. Canada (CASL) and the EU and UK (GDPR) require more, and SMS and calling in the US fall under TCPA, which is stricter than email. The pack covers each.
